Regular Skill:
Gouge: The trident is jabbed like a spear. If a hit is landed, Ruka twists the trident sharply to deal extra damage from the other blades of the trident. Since her trident is long and unwieldy, Ruka moves relatively slowly and has difficulty blocking attacks, resulting in low defense.

Special Skill:
Hook, Line, and Sinker: Ruka gains a huge one-time strength buff [+10 STR for one turn] and hurls her trident at a target, piercing them and reeling them in with the ribbon tied to her trident. During the entire attack (readying the trident, throwing it, and reeling in the target), Ruka is immobile and vulnerable to attack.  In addition, after using this move, her strength drops by half.

    Ruka is a habitual hard-worker, with a competitive streak bred in her since a young age, in terms of grades.  Her cold exterior and deadpan expression betrays her often uncertain and unconfident personality. She generally doesn’t speak much, and when she does, it’s only a few words at a time in a quiet voice. Ruka doesn’t mince words, however, as a result of her inability to speak well if anything. She’s very introverted, but enjoys hanging around people and listening to their experiences and stories.  Ruka tends to avoid one-on-one contact because she isn't used to direct contact with other people yet. Although Ruka can handle grades just fine, she gets stressed out easily with human interaction (even though it doesn't show on her face at all).

    As the oldest in the family, she's more used to taking care of others rather than being taken care of. Ruka's good with helping others study, as long as there's more than one person there. She won't say much about being looked after, but accepts it wholeheartedly and even feels a little happy about it.

    She'll take a few tries before she even feels comfortable to sit with you awhile, but she's trying her best.

History:

    The oldest sibling in a normal, middle-class household, Ruka lives with her parents and her three younger brothers.  She had always been taught to be the academic best, and grew up with this mentality. As a result, Ruka grew up to be a very serious and hardworking student, pouring all her free time into her studies. As the oldest child, she also forged herself into a role model, working hard to both maintain her excellent grades as well as take care of her younger siblings, obediently following her parents’ wills.


    However, when raising her three younger brothers, her parents had a change of heart in the way they wanted to raise their children. They now instead encouraged Ruka to have more fun while she was still young, and were more lax with her studies. Used to being a studious role model of society, Ruka had trouble readjusting her priorities. Though she could easily do what her parents told her to do, she found that “doing what she wanted to do” was exceedingly difficult. Unable to cope, she continued to study hard, without making many friends or joining any extracurricular activities. She longs to make close friends, but can’t bear the thought of criticism from any friends she makes, since for so long she’s only seen other people as competitors.

    As a freshman newly entering high school, Ruka's new goal is to become more sociable and have extracurricular activities, ultimately overcoming her fear of people.

Other:
-Although she might be inexperienced with socializing and just hanging out with friends, she's very open to new experiences and treats it like "gathering data".

-She adores her siblings, although they’re all generally bratty kids. Her rarely-seen smile is always seen around them.

-She still keeps her grades as a priority, and still studies in her free time, out of habit. She does try to make an effort to put aside her studies to do other things, though.

-One hobby that has developed is creating abstract designs. If you look in her extensive notes, occasionally you’ll find an erased doodle where a swirly design used to be.

-Bad at sports, since she doesn’t get out much. She has to work hard to keep her gym grade up, but her cool exterior doesn't let anyone know.

-As an academic, she's fine with direct interactions with teachers, since their only interactions would be of an academic nature.

-Love isn't on her mind at all. She has enough trouble with people in general and doesn't want to think about all the complex relationships that come after.
